Political climate of the 1950s

I researched the author of the crucible and many other plays, Arthur Miller. I read an interesting little biography on the stunning author. In Miller's more than thirty plays, which have won him a Pulitzer Prize and multiple Tony Awards, he puts in question "death and betrayal and injustice and how we are to account for this little life of ours." In Arhur's plays he created characters that wrestle with power conflicts, personal and social responsibility, the repercussions of past actions, and the twin poles of guilt and hope. I once believed in his mind that theatre would "change the world" That was his view on theatre and how much it ment to him. The biography about him said that he looked into Greeks for inspiration. I thought that was very interesting and maybe explains the reason why some of his plays are written the way they are. Miller began writing plays as a student at the University of Michigan, joining the Federal Theater Project in New York City after he received his degree. This shows that he began at a very young age and wrote for a very long time. That is just some of the stuff I read about the great author Arthur Miller

Fire and Brimstone sermon

Stop sinning you fools! You all owe more to God than know. All of you that continue to sin will be sent to hell. All you wicked men will burn in hell. Hell is waiting for you and it is not a place that you want to go. You sinners are in the hands of one angry god. Reform your life in God. There is only one God and that is the Lord Almighty. Don't fal for these false gods and become awful sinners. Sinners are in danger and are damned to hell! They must suffer for all of eternity. Do you want that? Do you want to have infinite misery? If you keep doing the things you do, you will. Everyone out of Christ must awake! You must awake fast and stay out of sinning. All you sinners take no interest in mediator. Please come out of sinning and live through Christ.

They all played a part

One of the people that played a big part in helping the Pilgrams settle in the new world was Squanto. Squanto was the Native American that helped the Pilgrims after the first winter in the New World. It was a hard first winter for the Pilgrims and they were needing alot of help. Squanto was the one who helped them recover from that awful winter. He taught them the native method of Maize civilization. The method utilized fish to fertilize crops He also taught the colonists how to catch the fish that was necessary to fertilize maize in the native fashion. He also taught them methods by which they could catch eels and other local wildlife for food. All that Squanto did for the Pilgrims led to the first thankgiving between the Pilgrims and the Native Americans. I believe that the Pilgrims would not have survived the New World if if wasnt for the help of the friendly Native American, Squanto.

Journals of discovery

One of the journals we read as Of Plymouth Plantation. It was a very interesting journal and was very good and showed good detail. It showed how hard it was to live over in the new world. It was very good at explaining the hardships. First the author talked about how long they were at sea and the boat ride was not fun at all. Also they had no place to go and there was no one there to greet them. When they got there it was winter and it was an awful winter. Also the native americans were not as friendly as they had hoped in the biggining. There were also wild beast and animals that they had to deal with. In 2-3 months half of the people that had come over to the new world had died. Alot of them died from disease. But some died from the cold and hunger. These are just some of the hardships that the people had to deal with when they came to the new world.
